Portland Classic Social Tower
If you were wondering what was looming large over the
Portland Classic Presented by Cambia Health Solutions, it was their social
media tower!
With Cambia Health Solutions on board as this year’s presenting
sponsor, officials were tasked with making the 2014 tournament more social
savvy. Cambia Health Solutions dreamed
up the tower near the practice putting green and high-traffic area to showcase
Tweets and Instagram photos from fans using #PDXClassic14 through the help of
the social media aggregation platform, Postano.
What a great way for fans to share their fun experiences at
an LPGA event!

Suzann Pettersen’s “Hide & Tweet”
If you follow Suzann Pettersen on Twitter, you know that she
performed a fun “Hide & Tweet” last Wednesday night.
Pettersen set out to give away some of her cool, autographed
Nike swag, including her staff bag... so she took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon
to alert her fans that something was brewing…
Want my @NikeGolf bag & shirt?Giving them away today! Keep your eyes on my Twitter page to find out how.#FindLPGA pic.twitter.com/zh58VEUCwr

After a few hours of guessing, fans were then informed by
Pettersen that her signed golf bag was in the Nike Store in downtown
Portland. The first to get there and
find it, got the Rolex Rankings #4 bag.
1st fan to find my signed bag at the @NikePortland store is the new owner + tix to @LPGA @PortlandClassic #FindLPGA pic.twitter.com/UPi4CrTurc

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Mr. Lee, an algebra teacher
from Portland, was the first to find the swag and proudly carried out
Pettersen’s signed bag and shirt as well as tickets to the Portland Classic
Presented by Cambia Health Solutions.
Austin Ernst was the latest inductee into the #LPGAWinnerSelfie club with her win at the Portland Classic Presented by Cambia Health Solutions. Each week, we post the winner selfie that is taken at the awards ceremony following play. It’s become really fun to see the players get excited to take the selfie as a way to celebrate their victory and entry into this exclusive club!

Wie Goes Pro
This last week, we saw Michelle Wie go pro in something
besides golf; Wie got herself a “Go Pro”. During Wie’s time off healing her
injury, she was able to let her fans still have an inside look on her day to
day by using her Go Pro during both practice and her down time.
Wie is a member of our “Social 20”, which is made up of 20
Tour players that help support the idea of social engagement and interacting
with fans. As a member of the Social 20, Wie is doing a great job experimenting with new gadgets and fun ways to show our fan base a glimpse of her day to day.
Wie used her Go Pro to film a time lapse of her practicing on the putting
greens as well as her off the course activities, painting at home. Wie is just
learning to have some fun with her Go Pro, but follow along to see what other
cool and fun ways Wie uses her Go Pro to see her life from a different angle.

One of our newest social channels that we have added here at the LPGA is SnapChat. The best advantage of SnapChat is the quick and fun viewpoint that we can give fans. SnapChat enables us to show behind the scenes and onsite updates for fans that are not able to attend tournaments or events. With quick pictures and videos just lasting a few seconds long, fans are able to see some of their favorite players.
During the Portland Classic Presented by Cambia Health Solutions, players had some fun with our SnapChat, signing their autographs on a "snap"of themselves. This was a fun way to promote our SnapChat, while highlighting a few of the Tour players too.
